I was given a coupons for OPAL APPLES through BZZAgent to try and review. Here are my thoughts!
Product claims (via website)
- Naturally non-browning (need I say more!!!!???)
- They currently come from Washington state and are a cross between a Golden Delicious and a Topaz.
- They are crispy and sweet
- Taste the Difference, Make a Difference campaign through the Opal® is empowering members to put their dreams into action and then serve those most in need within their community. To that end we are sponsoring the Opal Apple Youth Make a Difference initiative for 2015
- Non-GMO
My thoughts
- They are super sweet (and not a bad thing!)
- They do not brown like regular apples
- I was able to use them in baking and recipes successfully (& tastefully!)
- They do cost a bit more (at least in my area) than other types of apples but they are worth it!
